The Studio @ ComVess is built next door and is connected to the ComVess HQ. It consists of Studio A, Studio B, and a small lounge/storage area. Being connected to the office, it has access to the mini kitchen and bathroom. Located in Birmingham, it is close to the coolest new restaurants and bars that the city is well known for.

Studio A is the main studio, centered around a rare, modified Studer 369 console. Originally commissioned in Budapest, it was totally restored and re-commissioned here in 2016. The sound quality is incredible, and is on par with any 70s era Neve, API, etc. Artists can record to a Studer A827 24 track tape machine, or into the Protools HD system, converted and clocked from a fully loaded, 32×32 Apogee Symphony IO. The studio floor is large enough for live band tracking, and has a very comfortable atmosphere.

Studio B is a smaller room, designed for editing, overdubs, or smaller tracking projects. It also doubles as an isolation room for Studio A, including full tie lines and connections to the console in control room A. It has a Pro Tools 8 system, using a Digidesign 003 clocked from an Apogee Apollo 8×8 interface.

In just two years, the studio has already hosted musicians from around the country, including two Grammy winning producers. We have a large selection of instruments as well, including drum machines, synths, electric pianos, guitars and drums.
